Quick Bites: Grand Wok, Soulbelly, Monzú and more Vegas food news

Just in time to celebrate the Year of the Ox, MGM Grand has opened Grand Wok Noodle Bar, formerly Grand Wok and Sushi Bar, on the casino floor adjacent to Avenue Café. The new concept features traditional pan-Asian dishes including wok-tossed noodles, barbecue, seafood, rice and tofu. Signature dishes include dan dan noodles, Hong Kong-style beef chow fun, black pepper steak, Thai basil beef fried rice and mango sticky rice. Grand Wok is open Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bruce Kalman’s acclaimed Soulbelly barbecue pop-up is moving to a new Downtown spot this week. Starting on February 18, Soulbelly will be cooking at the Kitchen at Atomic from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Due to the location at Atomic Liquors, the pop-up will be available only for those 21 and over. For more information, visit soulbellybbq.com.

Monzú Italian Oven & Bar is partnering with Golden Rainbow for the next edition of the Dining Out For Life series on February 23, when a percentage of sales will benefit the local nonprofit organization’s mission to provide critical services and financial assistance to men, women and children in Southern Nevada affected by HIV and AIDS. Monzú’s full menu of pizzas, pastas and more will be available and Red Penny Arcade will perform during the day, when the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit goldenrainbow.org.

7Five Brewing Co. has released its latest beer, the Grim Reaver imperial stout, a rich brew with notes of lightly roasted coffee and dark chocolate. It has a 7.5% ABV and 40 IBU (bitterness units) and is available in four-pack 16-ounce cans at Able Baker, Lee’s, Total Wine, Khoury’s and more or on draft at select establishments.

South Point will open a new Starbucks café in mid-April and construction on the project began on February 1. It will be located off the property’s main entrance in the former Seattle’s Best location. A Starbucks pop-up cart opened in the area on February 12 and will operate daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. until the permanent café arrives.
