Quick Bites: Kassi Beach House, Hofbräuhaus, brunch at Catch and more Vegas food news

Kassi Beach House has opened at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and celebrated with grand-opening festivities over the holiday weekend. Restaurateur Nick Mathers and the Wish You Were Here Group are behind the European-style restaurant and lounge with coastal Italian and Greek influences and a poolside location at Virgin. Kassi is serving brunch, dinner and dessert menus from executive chef Josh Stockton and this week will also see the launch Kassi House Party on Wednesdays, a locals’ night with discounts on food and cocktails. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. until late.

Virgin also announced its grand opening celebration set for June 10 and confirmed its remaining venues will be open by that date. Those restaurants include Afters Ice Cream, Todd English’s Olives and Money, Baby!

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is set to reopen today, June 1, after closing for the first time in its 17-year history for 15 months. The reopening hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Catch at Aria launched its new brunch program over the holiday weekend and will continue brunch service Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Menu highlights include truffle sashimi, tartare trio, the Hellfire Roll with spicy tuna two ways, cinnamon roll pancakes, the Anytime Waffle Tower with ice cream and chocolate ganache and the tuna poke bowl with avocado, sour apple and pineapple. A new brunch cocktail menu is also available.

Ada’s Wine Bar at Tivoli Village will launch Somm Sundays this weekend on June 6 at 3 p.m., a new monthly series featuring guest sommeliers and wine experts pairing special selections with exclusive dishes from executive chef Jackson Stamper. Matt Leos of Bird Dog Wines will kick off the series. Guests will also be able to purchase bottles to take home for 25% off. Reservations are recommended.

Ada’s sister restaurant Al Solito Posto has named Steve Young the new executive chef. Young was formerly in charge of Edge Steakhouse and Fresco Italiano at Westgate Las Vegas and has also cooked at the Mansion by Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand and at the Cosmopolitan.

Locale Italian Kitchen in Mountain’s Edge has launched its new family-style Sunday dinners, designed by chef Marc Marrone and owner Andy Hooper to help friends and families reconnect through homey, elevated Italian cuisine. Available every Sunday for dine-in, the dinner service is priced at $80 and designed to feed four. It includes oven-baked garlic and mozzarella bread, a choice of salad, a choice of pasta including rigatoni or spaghetti Bolognese or with Sunday sauce or pomodoro, an entrée choice of chicken parmigiana, Anita’s meatballs or hanger steak, and cannolis for dessert.

Shake Shack is recognizing Pride Month with a limited edition Pride Shake, available through June 30 at all U.S. locations. Made with strawberry and blackberry frozen custard and topped with a mango-passion fruit blend, whipped cream and rainbow glitter, the shake comes in a special Pride cup and 5% of each shake sold will be donated to the Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and intervention organization for LGBTQ young people.
