As the Las Vegas nightclub and dayclub industry emerges from pandemic survival mode this summer, it’s safe to expect plenty of changes to the scene. The clouds of COVID are fading and what will be revealed are fresh new experiences at new or renovated resorts including the Sahara, Virgin Hotels and Resorts World.

New hot spots also bring a shakeup in the high-powered Las Vegas DJ landscape, and today’s announcement is as big as it gets: Grammy-winning EDM icon Tiësto, one of the biggest drawing headlining acts at the Strip’s clubs for years, has joined the Zouk Group’s entertainment lineup at Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub at Resorts World. The new 3,500-room resort is set to open this summer.

“Las Vegas is like home to me and I can’t wait to feel the energy as we all make our triumphant return to this electric city,” the 52-year-old Dutch artist said in a statement.

Though he’s toured constantly throughout his career and consistently headlined the biggest dance music festivals across the globe, Tiësto has become ubiquitous in Las Vegas, so much so that his music soundtracked a new show at the Fountains at Bellagio in 2014.

He’s spent much of the last decade starring on the Strip at Hakkasan Group’s biggest venues and held a residency at Wynn prior to that.

“Our relationship with Tiësto dates back to the early stages of his career, and the team at Zouk Group is thrilled to continue our support of him with this incredible partnership,” said Zouk Group CEO Andrew Li in the announcement. “Tiësto is synonymous with Vegas and nightlife culture and we couldn’t be more excited to provide him with a brand-new stage to get back to business.”

Performance dates and ticket information will be available at zoukgrouplv.com/tiesto on April 19.

Zouk Nightclub’s 36,000 square feet will reportedly provide one of the most technologically advanced club environments in Las Vegas, including interactive 3D booking maps so guests can see exactly which tables they’re buying, and a state-of-the-art ceiling installation, the Mothership, incorporating a dynamic lighting system that can create a different backdrop every night. It will also house a club-within-the-club called Empire and a 360-degree bar called Capital.

Last week, Zouk Group announced another former Hakkasan resident, Zedd, as its first resident DJ at the nightclub and Ayu Dayclub. The first event announcement scheduled at either venue is J Balvin’s Neón Experience on September 16-19.
