Yes, Deadmau5 is performing at Commercial Center this week, but of course, it’s sold out. The free ticketed event Fabulous Commercial Center Block Party will take place at the historic center east of the Strip on May 18 at 6 p.m., also featuring performances from Bella Strings and Franky Perez. The Deamau5 set will take place atop the Forest House art piece, known from its appearances at Burning Man and EDC, and other large-scale art pieces will be spread across Commercial Center. The event “kicks off an initiative to bring excitement and the arts back to the larger South of Sahara Avenue District,” Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom said in a statement. The party is a collaboration between the county, Fired Up Management, Insomniac (which is throwing another pretty big party this week at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway), the UNLV College of Fine Arts and the Historic Commercial Center Association.
