Dinosaur on the loose in Las Vegas! (not really)

For fans of automobile destruction, it doesn’t get better than Robosaurus

The Cosmopolitan might be “just the right amount of wrong,” but Robosaurus is definitely “just the right amount of ridiculous.” The fire-breathing, car-eating attraction is camped out in front of Hooters through the weekend for your gawking pleasure.

Robosaurus @ Hooters

You may have seen monster truck races or demolition derbies, but you have not truly lived out your ultimate redneck fantasy until you have seen Robosaurs dismantle a car.

The 40-foot tall, 30-ton mechanical dinosaur was built to showcase the hydraulic, electrical and mechanical expertise of its creators, Monster Robots, Inc. Though technically impressive, above all it is just plain awesome. The mammoth T-Rex can turn on a dime and delicately pick up cars with its robotic claws, before ripping them to shreds with its giant teeth.

Calendar

Robosaurus at Hooters
December 17-19
Shows at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 a.m. and 5:00; free

As if the demolition aspect of this spectacle weren’t enough, Robosaurus breathes fire and grumbles somewhat inaudible threats to its unsuspecting vehicular victims. The operating sounds of the creature kind of drowned out its actual words, but it was probably saying, “Die Chevy, die! I could eat you for lunch. Oh wait. I just did. Rawr!”
