“Wait … I know this … It’s on the tip of my tongue …” NPR’s popular radio news quiz Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me lands in Las Vegas November 18 for a performance and recording featuring judge, scorekeeper and enviable radio voice Carl Kasell, host Peter Sagal and a lineup of celebrity panelists who’ll field and ask questions on recent news so odd it almost seems like fiction.

Almost inadvertently educational, Wait Wait is full of water-cooler-worthy news bites. Last week’s program included everything from Harry Reid’s big win (“He found somebody to run against who was marginally more loathed than he is”) to Morgan Freeman political ad imitators to the removal of coconuts in areas of India in advance of President Obama’s visit. Elvis Costello also made a guest appearance, putting the show on hold before answering questions about Elvis Stojko. Did you know the figure skater’s new goal is to make figure skating “more butch”? Yeah, neither did Costello.
