After The Super Bowl and before March Madness, sports fans really have only one other annual event on their calendars to look forward to, and that’s coming next Tuesday with the unveiling of the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in New York City, followed by two days of partying here in Las Vegas.
I can confirm that the models arrive here early Wednesday next week and will be here for a nonstop, 48-hour celebration. Our Merry Mayor of Mirth Oscar Goodman will give them the first official welcome mid-morning direct from the airport. Then there will be appearances at casino resorts for the girls, followed by the official magazine launch parties in the two evenings they’re in town.
Last year, it was Brooklyn Decker, Mrs. Andy Roddick who is currently starring with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Go With It, who led the bikini parade onto The Strip. Full coverage of their playtime in The Entertainment Capital of the World was posted right here at VegasDeLuxe.com 12 months ago.
The guessing game is already underway for whom will be this year’s cover girl and available for separate 3D viewing thanks to the magazine’s editors! A lot of attention is being given to South African beauty Genevieve Morton, who made headlines representing S.I. at The Black Eyed Peas pre-party for Super Bowl XLV over the weekend. Incidentally, she was born in the same town as Charlize Theron.
Rival magazine FHM shot Genevieve earlier and pushed up publication to feature her prominently, and it caused such a overload at its Web site -- and hers -- that they both crashed. With all the buzz that’s begun, is Genevieve the cover girl?
The official video of her photo shoot in Palm Springs, Calif., can be viewed at Sports Illustrated’s Web site. As a blond-haired beauty making her 2010 debut, she was teamed with another model at the air museum there as featured in this YouTube video.
The answer comes in one week -- and just 24 hours before the gorgeous glamour girls fly to Las Vegas. We’ll report that news instantly via Twitter -- and maybe even have it before the official announcement! Check back to VegasDeLuxe.com this week when we post the schedule of events and locations.
We’ll have full coverage of the sexy swimsuit sensations from the moment they arrive at McCarran Airport until they depart Friday morning.
