Do you have what it takes to stop being polite and start getting real?

If you understand that reference—and you feel up to the challenge—MTV will hold an open casting call this Saturday for Season 27 of its long-running reality show, The Real World, which places a handful of strangers in a house and records their lives and ensuing drama.

The casting call will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at O’Aces Bar and Grill, 4955 S. Decatur Blvd. Applicants must bring a recent picture of themselves, be at least 20-years old and look between the ages of 20 and 24.

Beyond that, casting directors said in a press release that they are particularly interested in finding individuals who have had to work hard to support themselves and move ahead in their lives. Examples might include a recent graduate affected by the economic downturn or someone who recently aged out of the foster-care system.

“We look for characters from real life; people with strong personalities who are unafraid to speak their minds,” executive producer Jonathan Murray said in the release. Past casts have included an HIV/AIDS educator, a recovering addict and an Iraq War veteran.

The filming location for Season 27 has not been revealed. Las Vegas has served as the backdrop for two seasons: 12 and 25. In the former, the cast lived in a suite inside the Palms. The latter was filmed at the Hard Rock Hotel.

The current season takes places in San Diego, another city that has hosted the reality television show twice.
