The Orleans, vivalasvegas.net

From chrome fenders and slick pompadours to cherry lips and curve-hugging sweaters, rockabilly culture has the best of America’s innocence and edge. Elvis was one of its pioneers, and his iconic song about our city is the namesake of “the biggest rockabilly party in the world.” The Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender is taking over the Orleans, and while the indoor events are sold out, you can still get in on the world-famous car show. Pre-1963 hot rods, rat rods, stock classics—there’s a bit of everything, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Duane Eddy will perform along with The Ventures, The Polecats, Big Sandy & his Fly-Rite Boys and more. You may not be able to afford a car, but you can take home a slice of rockabilly thanks to vintage-inspired vendors. And the lot is sure to be filled with many “beautiful babies” dolled up in the image of pin-up goddess Bettie Page. Meow.
