Journalists never truly go on vacation. Robin Leach reports from New York City today while en route to his annual vacation in Italy:

Mike Tyson’s Broadway success with the Spike Lee-directed “Undisputed Truth,” which had its world premiere at MGM Grand, is assured. Producers have already extended the run an extra week due to ticket demand and blocked off the theater for two additional weeks in the event of another sellout. Additionally, Tyson has agreed to a week run in Las Vegas during Fight Week in September, and he’s juggling offers from as far away as Australia to start a world tour.

The uniforms that Hollywood designer Allison Leach -- no relation -- made for Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris have proved such a hit that she is already working on new, top-secret ventures in Las Vegas. Her lips are sealed … for now.

PINKBERRY AUDITIONS: Yogurt retailer Pinkberry, a favorite of celebrities, is opening on the Strip this summer, and A5 Group is hosting auditions for fun and energetic people to be part of launching Pinkberry in Las Vegas as shift leaders, team members and fruit cutters.

NBA SUMMER LEAGUE: The 2012 NBA Summer League tips off Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion at UNLV, the eighth summer that the league has been held in Las Vegas since its start in 2004. The league will showcase 13 of the Top 14 picks in this year’s NBA Draft. The action begins at 1 p.m. with the Atlanta Hawks playing the Washington Wizards in the first of four scheduled games Friday at Cox.

Other teams participating in opening-day action: the Charlotte Bobcats, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors. Tickets are available by calling (702) 739-FANS, through UNLVTickets.com and by visiting any UNLV ticket outlet.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT: “Extra” Las Vegas correspondent Adrianna Costa and her fiance Scott Gorelick are the guests of Couples Cocktails today from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at STK in the Cosmopolitan, where a cocktail titled “Love at First Sight” will be created in a tribute to their love. The cocktail is a gin martini made with watermelon juice, fresh lime and watermelon garnish.

Couples Cocktails is every Wednesday this month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and teaches pairs tricks of the trade from Mark Suciu, master mixologist. Each class features a different theme -- from sophisticated, classic cocktails to trendy, seasonal cocktails.

MILLER HIGH LIFE DELIVERY: Fan favorite beer deliveryman Windell Middlebrooks was in Las Vegas visiting Bally’s, Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall, the Flamingo and Harrah’s as part of the “Welcome Veterans Back to the High Life” campaign. Middlebrooks met with local veterans and fans at Go Pool at the Flamingo, Slush Bar at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall, Carnaval Court and Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah’s and in front of Bally’s.

Throughout the summer, Miller High Life and Caesars Entertainment resorts, in partnership with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and Operation Homefront, are giving experiences to veterans to help them connect with others and enjoy some of life’s luxuries. For each Miller High Life and High Life Light sold at select bars, the cap or tab is kept and 10 cents is donated to provide veterans with “High Life” experiences, including motorsports and throwing out first pitches.

STAR SURVEILLANCE

Actor and comedian Jason Alexander was a surprise guest at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at MGM Grand on Tuesday night. Alexander was introduced by Garrett and then entertained the audience with his standup.

LeBron James, his fiance, Chris Paul and his wife dined at Lavo in the Palazzo on Tuesday night. In town for USA Basketball events this week, retired NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen treated his family to “Le Reve -- the Dream” at the Wynn on Tuesday night. Having seen the show, Pippen raved to his children before the performance that “they were about to see the best show.” Pippen also met with the cast.

Actor and Las Vegas regular Chuck Zito has joined the cast of “Sons of Anarchy” on F/X. He was seen staying and dining at the Tropicana the past few days and is a bodyguard to celebrities in town.

TONIGHT’S TIPS

Three hundred of America’s top swimmers make a splash at Heritage Park Aquatic Complex to compete in the U.S. Open Synchronized Swimming contest. The preliminaries of the Mrs. United States Pageant are at LVH. And Big Daddy Kane hosts Lavo’s hip-hop party.
