Events guide: Memorial Day Weekend 2013

Memorial Day Weekend in Las Vegas means four days and nights of parties and club events. Hopefully you’ve got Monday off and even if you aren’t so lucky, there’s still time to go out and enjoy an amazing entertainment lineup. Catch the opening of Daylight and Light at Mandalay or hit up one of the mainstays of the club and pool scene for a slew of celebrity hosts, big name DJs and performances.

Thursday:

ATB at Tao: German DJ and producer ATB headlines at Tao. The trance specialist is known for tracks like "Could You Believe." Special guest Rudee joins him.

Laidback Luke at Hakkasan: Filipino-Dutch DJ and producer Laidback Luke spins at the new MGM Grand club.

Cedric Gervais at Surrender: The French DJ has been spinning since his teenage days in St. Tropez, playing the hottest clubs and festivals and producing for some of today’s top talent. Check him out live at Surrender, as he brings his Le Show bash to the club.

AN21 and Max Vangeli at Tryst Steve Angello's little brother has made quite a name for himself aside from his famous relative. Hear the Size Matters DJ spin at Tryst along with Max Vangeli.

Adam Hunter at Improv at Harrah’s: "Last Comic Standing" alum Adam Hunter brings his rapid-fire laughs to the Improv at Harrah's along with writer and stand-up comic Brian McKim.

JJAMZ at Boulevard Pool: Los Angeles indie-pop quintet JJAMZ borrows members from other bands including Maroon 5, Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes and the Like.

Friday:

Zedd and Hook N Sling at Light: Electro house specialist Zedd spins at Mandalay Bay's brand new club along with Australian DJ and producer Hook N Sling.

Tiesto at Hakkasan: Dutch musician, DJ and record producer Tiesto spins at Hakkasan. The EDM pioneer recently announced his "Club Life Volume 3" is in the works.

Kathy Griffin at the Terry Fator Theartre: The Mirage welcomes the queen of the D List, Kathy Griffin, as she performs a live stand up show. The Emmy Award-winning actress gained notoriety for her show “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List” and continues to gain fame for her outspoken celebrity slamming style.

DJ Five at Tao Beach: DJ Five gets the weekend rolling with a poolside set at Tao Beach.

Ralphie May at South Point: Comedian Ralphie May is large and in charge and ready to make you laugh with a three-night run at the South Point Showroom. The veteran of “Last Comic Standing” will have you in stitches with his ode to Chik-fil-A and what it was like to swim in Saddam Hussein's pool.

Nas at Tao: Rapper and actor Nas does a special performance at Tao along with sounds from Eric D-Lux.

Arty at Marquee Dayclub: Anjunabeats recording artist Arty is young but has already shared the stage with the likes of Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond and Gareth Emery. He'll spin poolside at Marquee Dayclub.

White Party at Marquee: Break out your bright whites for Marquee's White Party featuring music from Armin Van Buuren and W&W.

Holiday drink specials at Rhumbar: Rhumbar at the Mirage kicks off summer with Memorial Mojito Madness featuring entertainment plus hookah and drink specials Friday through Monday. Sunday and Monday guests can enjoy a build-your-own mojito experience with an assortment of rums and mixers in a variety of flavors, including classic, strawberry, watermelon, raspberry, blueberry, mango and pineapple for $12 each. Enjoy DJ music plus, from 2-6 p.m. daily, revelers may enjoy $18 domestic beer buckets, $8 house selection cigars and $5 rum punch cocktails, Coors Light bottles and vodka mixed drinks.

The Sayers Sessions at Hyde: The Sayers Sessions’ band from live-music venue, the Sayers Club in Los Angeles, will make a special trip to Las Vegas to perform at Hyde.

MDW at Carlos ’n Charlies: The Flamingo’s Mexican venue kicks off the summer with a weekend-long fiesta including all-day drink specials and a Memorial Day party with a Mexican twist. Drink specials include two-for-one frozen margaritas and Tecate drafts with a pool wristband, $5 shots of El Jimador tequila which include the shot glass, $20 open bar for ladies Friday and Saturday night starting at 10:30 p.m. and a free T-shirt when you buy a 100-ounce Bazooka. The event will feature a live DJ, balloon artist, prize giveaways and more.

Drink specials at Cabo Wabo: Cabo Wabo Cantina inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood celebrates Memorial Day Weekend with a four-day party. Enjoy visits from the Corona girls and music on its Strip-side patio plus $20 buckets of Corona and daily shot specials.

Drink specials at Tacos & Tequila: Tacos & Tequila at Luxor offers food and drink specials Friday-Monday including Corporate Executive Chef Saul Ortiz’s tacos, priced at $3 a la carte. Drink specials will also be available that include $5 Dos Equis, $8 Micheladas and $8 Palomas made with Cazadores Reposado tequila. Guests can also enjoy the Chonga, a 54-ounce frozen margarita with two upside down 7 ounce Sol beers, priced at $20. DJ Larry Lynx spins from 8-11 p.m.

Fantasy party at Rockhouse: The ladies of "Fantasy" will rock the house at Rockhouse, located at the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Members of the sexy show will visit the ultra-dive bar to ride the famous mechanical bull and enjoy drink specials like the new $10 “Bottomless Bikini Bar,” open bar available every night to all ladies sporting pool-side attire from 6 until 10 p.m.

Wale at the Bank: Bellagio's club presents Wale, who will perform his hits including “Chillin” and “Pretty Girls.” Accompanying Wale will be DJ Ikon.

Future at 1 Oak: Enjoy a performance from hip-hop star Future, known for his dynamic collaborations on hit songs such as “Same Damn Time,” “Magic” and “Turn on the Lights." Resident DJ Karma spins as well.

Air Supply at the Orleans Showroom: After success in Australia, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock got signed to Arista Records and struck it big in the U.S. with hits like "Lost in Love" and "All Out of Love."

Bill Cosby at the Treasure Island Theatre: The star of the “The Cosby Show” and “Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids” got his start in stand up comedy.

Wiz Khalifa at Ditch Fridays: Multi-platinum recording artist Wiz Khalifa performs his top hits at Ditch Fridays at the Palms Pool.

Jazzy Jeff at Moon: Turntable legend DJ Jazzy Jeff spins at Moon Nightclub.

Benny Black at Ghostbar: Benny Black and Presto One spin at Ghostbar on top of the Palms.

Drink specials at Señor Frogs: Señor Frogs at Treasure Island offers a lineup of fiesta specials Friday-Monday. Enjoy a patio party from 3-7 p.m. featuring two-for-one margaritas and half-priced appetizers. On Saturday, enjoy Latin night from 10 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Señor’s Sunday Funday will give partygoers two-for-one drinks for their first round with a “check-in” on Foursquare or Facebook or tweet using the @SenorFrogsVegas handle. Guests must present their check-in or post at the hostess stand to receive the voucher and will be limited to one voucher per person. To conclude the three-day weekend, $3 AMF, Sex on the Beach and house tequila shots will be served all day.

Dirty South at Encore Beach Club: Australian DJ/remixer/record producer Dirty South has headlined at both Coachella and the Electronic Daisy Carnival. Catch him now at Encore Beach Club.

Eric Prydz at Surrender: The Encore nightclub presents Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz spinning his hits like “Aileen Aileen."

Avicii at XS: Grammy-nominated Swedish DJ and producer Avicii, known for his hit singles like "Bromance" and "My Feelings For You," spins at XS at Encore.

Kings of the Mic Tour at The Joint: Public Enemy, Ice Cube, LL Cool J and De La Soul prove they are worthy of the label of hip-hop legend as they perform at The Joint at the Hard Rock along with DJ Z-Trip.

Drink specials at PBR:Playboy Playmate Laura Croft hosts a three-day Memorial Day Weekend party at PBR Rock Bar & Grill inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Best-known for her co-starring role on “Holly’s World,” the star will judge nightly bull riding competitions. Partygoers can enjoy Happy Hour specials available from 3-6 p.m., including $3 domestic draft beers, $19 beer buckets, two-for-one well cocktails, half-priced bottles of wine and $5 shots. There's also an all-day open bar access, priced at $50.

Go Party at Go Pool: Go Pool at Flamingo starts the weekend with a pool party and booty-shaking contest hosted by KVEG HOT 97.5 FM’s Jeff G. The radio station will broadcast live from the pool, giving away prizes from their tent while offering lucky listeners a chance to win complimentary pool entrance and free drinks. Carnaval Court master of ceremonies Brian will host kayak races, limbo contests, booty-shaking contests and a variety of other poolside activities throughout the weekend. Guests can enter contests to win a $30 bar tab and free show tickets. Enjoy DJ entertainment each day of the holiday weekend from noon until 5:45 p.m. Friday is DJ John Bliss, Saturday is DJ Jay Bray, Sunday is DJ Vinyl Dave and Monday is DJ Olya.

Soleil Pool party at Paris: Soleil Pool at Paris Las Vegas offers live entertainment, drink specials and giveaways all weekend long. Giveaways will include show tickets to “Jersey Boys” at Paris and “Tony & Tina’s Wedding” at Bally’s, Ketel One swag and listen-to-win prizes with KKLZ 96.3 FM. Live DJ entertainment will be provided by DJ Justin Sayne of Ultra DJs. Drink specials will include Ketel cocktails, two-for-one Red Bull cocktails and $25 Miller bucket specials all weekend.

Carnaval Court party: Carnaval Court at Harrah’s Las Vegas features buckets of Miller Light and Coors Light aluminum bottles throughout the weekend. Gogo dancers will perform Friday-Sunday from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. The schedule of live music is as follows:

  • Friday – Whip Its (day), Mr. and Mrs. Smith and DJ Vinyl Dave (night)
  • Saturday – Whip Its (day), Mr. and Mrs. Smith and DJ Jay Bray (night)
  • Sunday – White Wedding (day), Clock Work and DJ Reaction (night)
  • Monday – White Wedding (day), Crashers and DJ T (night)

The new VIP section of Carnaval Court showcasing added bar space and additional private seating will be unveiled for the first time Friday along with the opening of Carnaval Court Grill, which will be open from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily.

Dos Caminos offers specials Friday–Monday during dinner hours (4 p.m. – closing) featuring beer braised brisket flautas, watermelon and requeson salad, Tecate battered soft shell crab tacos and chipotle barbecued chicken.

Jessica Who at Pure: DJ Jessica Who has been spinning for eight years and has DJed for many celebrities like Katy Perry, Queen Latifah and Kelis.

Tommy Trash at Wet Republic: MGM’s party pool offers music from Australian electro beatmeister Tommy Trash along with R3hab.

Flosstradamus at Body English: Chicago-based DJs J2K and Autobot, aka Flosstradamus, spin at Body English along with Whiiite.

Saturday:

Punk Rock Bowling in Downtown Las Vegas: Punk Rock Bowling is a four-day punk rock festival event that takes place downtown just off Fremont Street. The weekend kicks off Friday night with five club shows and the Outdoor Festival begins Saturday afternoon. The festival is all ages and kids 8 and under are free. There is no re-entry, but food and drink vendors will be on-site. The lineup includes Bad Religion, Devo, Bouncing Souls, Flag and The Dirty Panties. Club shows are 21 and over except for the Fremont Country Club shows which are 18 and over. Click here for more information on specific events.

Axwell and Zedd at Daylight: Axwell and Zedd launch Las Vegas’s newest daylife experience as they perform on Daylight Beach Club’s 1,500 square-foot stage.

Ron White at Mirage: Ron White, best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour,” will perform his hilarious stand-up comedy inside the Terry Fator Theatre at the Mirage.

Billy Idol at the Pearl: English rocker Billy Idol will be performing live at the Pearl at the Palms. Look forward to hits like "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell" and "Dancing with Myself."

Snoop Dogg at Mandalay Beach: Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion, performing his classic hits like “Gin and Juice” at Mandalay Bay Beach along with special guest Warren G. Join the after party at 1 Oak at the Mirage after the show.

R. Kelly at Planet Hollywood: R&B singer R. Kelly, known for hits like "I Believe I Can Fly," performs along with rap artist 2 Chainz and R&B singer Ashanti.

Fuel & Lit at Fremont Street Experience: Lit, known for hits like "My Own Worst Enemy" performs with Fuel, known for hits like "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)", at the Fremont Street Experience.

DJ Vice at Tao and Tao Beach: DJ Vice celebrates Memorial Day weekend with headlining gigs at Tao Saturday night and Tao Beach Sunday plus a return stop over at Tao Sunday for Neon Vice Sunday.

Gareth Emery at Marquee Dayclub: Gareth Emery spins along with Christina Novelli and Mario Fischetti at Marquee Dayclub for Insomniac’s Wet Wonderland.

Juicy Vegas at Body English: Hard Rock’s nightclub welcomes Juicy Vegas featuring Robbie Rivera, Felix Cartal and Donald Glaude.

Summer Lovin' at Marquee Dayclub: Superstar DJ and producer Kaskade presents his Summer Lovin' experience at Marquee Dayclub.

Busta Rhymes at Gallery: The Brooklyn-born rapper of Jamaican descent first broke onto the scene with "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check" and has had continued success in both music and acting. Catch him at the Planet Hollywood club.

Keri Hilson at LAX: The “Pretty Girl Rock” singer performs at the Luxor nightclub.

Claire Sinclair autograph signings: "Pin Up" star Claire Sinclair celebrates her 22nd birthday this weekend with several appearances. Fans can wish her a happy birthday at Bettie Page Clothing Store at Miracle Mile Shops from 5-6 p.m. and from 8-9 p.m. at the DV Love Boutique Grand Opening at the Stratosphere Tower Shops.

Sebastian Ingrosso at Light: Superstars Sebastian Ingrosso and Otto Knows spin at Light Nightclub on its inaugural weekend.

Capital Cities at Hyde: Named the “best band in Los Angeles” by Perez Hilton, duo Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian are the indie dance group Capital Cities. Hear them in front of the Bellagio fountains at Hyde.

Charlie Sheen at Sapphire Pool: "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen hosts the day at the new Sapphire Pool while DJ Sid Vicious supplies the music.

Calvin Harirs at Hakkasan: Scottish DJ and musician Calvin Harris performs at Hakkasan along with Michael Woods.

Pool party at Bally’s: Blu Pool at Bally’s Las Vegas presents a pool party hosted by "The Rat Pack." Guests will have the chance to win tickets to "Tony & Tina’s Wedding" and "Jubilee!" at Bally’s and "The Rat Pack" at the Rio. Live DJ entertainment will be provided by DJ Yameel of Ultra DJs. Drink specials will include Absolut Blu cocktails, two-for-one Red Bull shots and $25 Miller bucket specials all weekend long.

Pharrell Williams at Pure:The former Neptunes and N.E.R.D. singer recently collaborated with Daft Punk.

Pool party at Caesars Palace: Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis at Caesars Palace offers drink specials and giveaways throughout the holiday weekend including $35 buckets of Coors Light, Mike’s Hard Lemonade and Mike’s Hard Black Cherry Lemonade and $150 bottles of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. The pool deck will feature a Syrup Swimwear promotion that will offer guests special giveaways.

Pool party at Planet Hollywood: Pleasure Pool at Planet Hollywood will kickoff its annual bikini contest Saturday offering guests a chance to win more than $5,000 in cash prizes. DJ and producer Roger Gangi, DJs Mikey Swift and Two Fist Tommy will spin all weekend at the pool while guests enjoy drink specials including two-for-one Cabo shots, $25 Miller and Coors buckets and two-for-one SKY and Red Bull.

SkyBlu at Liquid and the Bank: SkyBlu, half of the superstar DJ group LMFAO, and resident DJ IKON spin poolside at Liquid. SkyBlu then heads to the Bank at Bellagio to keep the party going.

J. Cole at Haze: The hip-hop singer and producer is known for tracks like "Can't Get Enough" and "Grew up Fast."

Big Sean at Palms Pool: Big Sean, known for hit singles “My Last” and “Marvin & Chardonnay,” continues Ditch Weekend with a live performance at Palms Pool.

Battle Saturdays at Moon: Battle Saturdays presents a 2x4 battle on the dance floor featuring DJ Exodus and Mark Stylz.

Lisa Pittman at Ghostbar: Local favorite DJ Lisa Pittman spins at Ghostbar.

Drita D’Avanzo at Crazy Horse III: VH1 reality television star, Drita D’Avanzo, hosts a party at Crazy Horse III. The “Mob Wives” bad girl recently launched her own makeup line, Just Me Cosmetics, and two fashion lines, Lady Boss and Team Drita.

Steve Angello at EBC: Greek-Swedish DJ, producer and one third of the group Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello, performs at Encore Beach Club.

Porter Robinson at Surrender: “Wunderkind” could be an understatement. The EDM artist just signed on for a residency at the Encore club, even though he’s not yet old enough to order a drink at the indoor/outdoor nightspot’s bar.

Lil Jon at Tryst: Rapper and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Lil Jon spins at the Wynn nightclub.

Afrojack at XS: Resident DJ Afrojack, dubbed “The World’s Next Top DJ” by “Mixmag,” has escalated to international fame while calling the DJ booth at XS home to his Las Vegas residency.

UFC 160 at MGM Grand Garden Arena: Heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez squares off against Antonio Silva for the second time. Mark Hunt will also take on Cain Velasquez and Glover Teixeira takes on James Te Huna.

Sunday

TI at Rain: Rapper and actor TI, known for hits like "Bring Em Out," "What You Know," performs at Rain Nightclub at the Palms.

Tuff-N-Uff's FestiBrawl at South Point: The “Festibrawl” pre-party includes food, drinks and live music, and starts at 5:30 p.m. The night’s first fight is at 7 p.m. The fightcard includes undefeated Tuff-N-Uff middleweight champion Dylan Jahrling (5-0) seek the first defense of his belt against former Tuff-N-Uff light heavyweight titleholder Khalil Rountree (3-1).

Teach Me How to Shuffle weekend: The Orleans presents Teach Me How To Shuffle, an all ages dance party and weekend experience featuring EDM music and a pool party on Sunday.

Baauer and Just Blaze at Light: Baauer of "Harlem Shake" fame and Just Blaze spin at Light.

Bell Biv DeVoe at Mandalay Bay: Three of New Edition's former members, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe, went on to form Bell Biv DeVoe. Hear them perform at Mandalay Beach.

Chris Tucker at the Pearl: Comedian and actor Chris Tucker has worked his way up the stand-up comedy ladder as well as made a name for himself with popular films like “Rush Hour” and its sequels and “Friday.”

Vice at Tao Beach and Lavo: Party poolside with DJ Vice at Tao Beach by day then head over to Lavo at Palazzo to keep the party going for Neon Vice Sundays.

Calvin Harris at Wet Republic: The Grammy-winning DJ and producer has moved to MGM where for a Wet Republic residency.

Richard Beynon at Body English: Canadian DJ Richard Beynon headlines at Body English with DJ Stellar.

Benny Benassi at Marquee: Italian DJ Benny Benassi, also known as the “Electroman,” spins at Marquee Nightclub as part of his Metamorphosis experience.

Fleetwood Mac at MGM Grand Garden Arena: Fleetwood Mac, one of rock’s most enduring, beloved and successful bands, will perform inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Grammy-winning group and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will embark on the “Fleetwood Mac Live 2013 Tour” after a three-year break. The new tour also marks the 35th anniversary of the release of the group’s classic album “Rumours,” one of the most successful albums in history with sales exceeding 40 million copies. “Rumours” was at the top of the pop charts for more than 31 weeks and had four Top 10 singles.

Chris Brown at Palms Pool: Carefree Nation and Socialaire Group present Memorial Day Sunday with Chris Brown at Palms Pool.

Scott Disick’s birthday at Hyde: Reality television personality of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Scott Disick will celebrate his 30th birthday at Hyde. Disick, a frequent visitor of Las Vegas and the longtime boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian, will be sure to have a party of “Lord Disick” proportions. Guests can enjoy music from DJs D-Miles and Reach.

DJ Pauly D at Liquid and Haze: DJ Pauly D gets the party started at Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria, then heads to Haze for his "Turnt Up” party.

DJ Bamboozle at Bare: DJ Bamboozle keeps the music flowing as 50 of San Diego’s hottest hang poolside at Bare.

Flo Rida at 1 Oak: “Low” and “Whistle” singer Flo Rida performs at 1 Oak.

Kaskade at Tao: Legendary DJ Kaskade performs an extended six hour set since you (hopefully!) don't have work the next day. And even if you do, this will probably be worth it.

Gloriana at Aliante: Aliante Casino + Hotel presents country group Gloriana. Their debut single “Wild at Heart” became gold-certified, and their latest album, "A Thousand Miles Left Behind," produced the most played song by a group at Country Radio in 2012 with “(Kissed You) Good Night.” As a follow-up, the latest release from this album, “Can’t Shake You,” is currently climbing the charts.

Steve Aoki and Deadmau5 at Hakkasan: It's a DJ double threat as Steve Aoki and Deadmau5 take to the tables at MGM's newest club.

Skrillex at Eclipse: Six time Grammy Award winner Skrillex headlines at the Eclipse pool party at Daylight.

Diddy: Hip-hop mogul and Ciroc fan Diddy hosts and performs at the Hard Rock's legendary pool party.

Kid Conrad at Ghostbar: Young DJ Kid Conrad come by his name honestly. Catch him headlining at the top of the Palms.

Avicii at Encore Beach Club: Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Avicii better bust out the sunscreen for his outdoor gig at EBC.

Above & Beyond at Surrender: British trance trio Above & Beyond bring their “Group Therapy” show to Surrender.

David Guetta at XS: You can’t go out these days without hearing one of the French DJ’s recent hit singles — or seven. Experience them live when Guetta spins at XS.

Monday

David Guetta at Encore Beach Club: David Guetta keeps the party going Monday at EBC with hits like “Where Them Girls At,” “Turn Me On” and “Without You.”

Steve Angello and Afrojack at XS: Steve Angello and Afrojack team up for a one-two punch to close out Memorial Day Weekend at the Encore club.

Flo Rida at Liquid: Finish the celebratory weekend by partying poolside at Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria with singer Flo Rida, who will treat guests to a special performance.

Jonn Hart at Bare: Ending the weekend right, Bare Pool Lounge welcomes R&B star Jonn Hart.

Pool party at the Riviera: The Riviera hosts a Memorial Day pool party beginning at 9 a.m. featuring a poolside barbecue, live DJ, games and other prizes. Drink specials include $2 small and $4 large Rolling Rock drafts, $20 buckets of 8 Bud and Bud Light and $3 Long Islands and cosmopolitans.

Deadmau5 at Wet Republic: Deadmau5 brings his “Unhooked” act to Wet Republic and perhaps he'll even take off the mau5 head for a bit to enjoy the breeze.

Dash Berlin at Marquee: The progressive-trance DJ from the Netherlands began as a vinyl collector and then became fascinated with house and trance music.

Sander Van Doorn at Marquee Dayclub: Dutch trance and house specialist Sander Van Doorn headlines at Marquee Dayclub along with Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano.
