Sky Blu Debuts at Wet Republic

Just hours before winning six trophies at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena with LMFAO, Sky Blu debuted his monthly DJ residency “Who Came To Party?!” at Wet Republic at MGM Grand. The singer, songwriter, producer and DJ energized the crowd as he manned the wheels of steel for the sold-out crowd of daytime revelers before heading to perform with his uncle, Redfoo, at the BMAs.

Sky Blu took over the DJ booth at 2 p.m. and opened his set by performing the mega-hit and now BMA-winning “Party Rock Anthem.” Keeping the pool party packed and pumping, Sky Blu spinned more popular hits, including “Sorry for Party Rocking,” “Sexy And I Know It,” “We Came Here to Party” and more.

Sky Blu took his residency sky-high as he incorporated dancers, instrumentalists and guests DJs; The Smiley Gang, featuring fellow Big Bad artists Shwayze, Mark Rosas, BVillain and girlfriend Chelsea Korka. The DJs and producers took turns manning the decks, and Sky Blu was full of energy and seen dancing, jumping around and climbing the stage to get closer to the crowd. Fans partied all afternoon, as they … came to party!

Sky Blu ended his two-hour set with a surprise as he emerged among the crowd and paraded throughout the dayclub with his crew as he performed “Champagne Showers” and sprayed down partygoers with -- what else? -- champagne. He finished up in the middle of the dance floor with guests by his side and showed off his dance moves, including his shuffle. He then thanked everyone for coming and then departed for the BMAs.

Sky Blu will be back at Wet Republic on Sunday headlining the Memorial Day Weekend lineup; check out colleague Andrea Domanick’s interview with Sky Blu. And thanks to Erik Kabik for his photo gallery of Sky Blu’s party.
