Update (7/30/13, 9:15 a.m.): And there's more. After releasing a handful of bands on Monday, Life Is Beautiful added two big names to its October festival lineup Tuesday morning: Vampire Weekend and Janelle Monae.

Brooklyn indie-popsters Vampire Weekend played a Cosmopolitan Coachella Week show in April. Monae's most recent Vegas show was in June 2011, when she opened for crooner Bruno Mars at the Pearl.

Southern blues-rockers Alabama Shakes, who played their first Las Vegas show earlier this month, were part of a wave of additions to October's Life Is Beautiful Festival lineup.

Also joining the bill for the October 26-27 Downtown fest: Cults, Joey Bada$$, Smith Westerns, Nico Vega, The Dig and Dreamers. LIB also announced the bands for a Red Bull Sound Select-curated stage: Wildcat! Wildcat!, Chancellor Warhol, The Kingston Springs, Children of the Night and Tink.

The Life Is Beautiful lineup already included The Killers, Kings of Leon, Beck, Imagine Dragons, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Jurassic 5 and more than 20 other touring acts, along with a slew of local bands including Most Thieves, Rusty Maples and Kid Meets Cougar.
