The ‘Henry & Glenn Forever’ zine: A perfect pregame for this weekend’s Danzig show

Image
Get pumped for Friday night’s Danzig show with Henry & Glenn Forever.

Danzig is playing Brooklyn Bowl Friday, which is pretty neat, but what’s even neater is Henry & Glenn Forever, an amaaaaaazing zine created by writer/illustrator team Igloo Tornado and put out by Microcosm Publishing of Portland, Oregon.

The story follows Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig, good “friends” and “roommates” who live next door to creepy Satanists Hall and Oates. Henry is a aloof and inconsiderate and doesn’t wear shoes; Glenn is naggy and emotionally bruised. Glenn asks questions like, “Can we paint the bedroom black this weekend?” And Henry shows affection the best he can, telling Glenn, “I hate myself for you.”

There are four issues total, and a graphic novel containing all issues, plus 100 new pages. The stories are a perfect pregame for the show this weekend—or whenever. It’s perhaps the greatest love story of all time.

Danzig with Pennywise, Cancer Bats, Brave Black Sea. July 31, 7:30 p.m., $36-$39. Brooklyn Bowl, 702-862-2695
