Progressive festival Further Future had already announced it was returning to Southern Nevada for the April 29-May 1 weekend some weeks back. Today, organizers released the first batch of live music/DJ performers and so far, the lineup looks as promising as last year’s mainstream-bucking, forward-thinking curation.

Coming to a desert location to be revealed later—this year’s debut was held at the Moapa River Indian Reservation 50 minutes north of Las Vegas—are techno titan and festival favorite Dixon; hip-hop veterans and semi-frequent Strip visitors The Pharcyde; acclaimed ambient/experimentalist and recent Nine Inch Nails tour opener Oneohtrix Point Never; Chicago house hero Derrick Carter, who last spun here at Tropicana’s Nikki Beach 2011; eclectic LA electronic act Daedelus; US progressive icon and former Club Utopia resident Kimball Collins, last surfacing at Vanity in 2010 and Berlin techno/minimalist &Me. Dixon, Daedelus and &Me look to be performing in the Vegas area for the first time.

Other announced participants include Birds of Passage, Donato Dozzy, Elderbrook, Greg Wilson, Hauschka, Inland Nights, Jam City, Jane Fitz, Joakim, Joeski, Lusine with Trent Moorman, Matt Tolfrey, Neel, Pattern Drama, Pedro Aguiar, Rampue, Rival Consoles, Stev, Still Corners, Talal, Voices From the Lake and WhoMadeWho. More may be forthcoming, as the May edition featured two major lineup reveals.

No word yet if there will be another speaker complement to Further Future, which also debuted with a health/wellness component. A ticket sale page for the event has been established for those request—would-be attendees must inquire through the fest’s Facebook page, a practice held over from this year’s edition—and receive a purchase approval code. Three-day passes are currently $348, which includes a $27 Nevada live entertainment tax and $6 ticket shipping charge. For more information, visit furtherfuture.com.
