Psycho Las Vegas has unveiled the next wave of acts for its 2017 festival, including garage-punk veterans The Murder City Devils, black-metal favorites Wolves in the Throne Room and goth-folk singer Chelsea Wolfe.
Also signed on for the heavy-rock gathering, scheduled for August 17-20 at the Hard Rock Hotel, are stoner-rock mainstays Melvins; grindcore godfathers Carcass; reunited desert rockers Slo Burn; Swedish metal outfit Cult of Luna, which will play 2016 album Mariner with vocalist Julie Christmas); Ethio-jazz legend Mulatu Astatke; and Crystal Fairy, a new group featuring Melvins Buzz Osborne and Dale Grover, At the Drive-In/The Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and vocalist Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes.
The other new additions: Sumac, Myrkur, Pelican, Weedeater, Zeal & Ardor, Vhol, Cough, Inter Arma, The Skull, Buzzoven, Minsk, Code Orange, Khemmis, Gatecreeper, North, Cult Leader, Snail, Wizard Rifle, Merlin, Floorian, Elephant Tree, Morne, Hollow Leg and Summoner.
They join November's announced acts: Swans, Neurosis, Magma, Abbath, Windhand, Blood Ceremony, Slomatics and Domkraft, accounting for roughly half the eventual lineup. Organizers say to look for the rest—including headliners—over the next month or so.
GA tickets, selling for $249 plus fees, are available now here, with $499 VIP tickets scheduled to go on sale January 18 on the same site.
For its first Las Vegas edition in August, Psycho's 100-plus acts included Alice Cooper, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Blue Oyster Cult, Drive Like Jehu, High on Fire, Baroness and Pentagram.
