Cheap drinks, solid bartenders and plentiful plumes of cigarette smoke—you can always count on these things and more at Huntridge Tavern. Now, frequenters of the Downtown dive (and 2015 Best of Vegas award recipient) can add live music to the list.

It’s been years since it consistently booked artists, but assistant manager Alex Menichino says he wanted to “bring music back to the Huntridge” to help support local bands and to “bring entertainment into such an awesome bar.”

Indie-punk band Indigo Kidd kicked off the Huntridge’s programming on June 22. The lineup for July currently includes The Surgeon (July 2), DJ Lucky LaRue (July 8) and Los Pistoleros (July 16).

All shows are free and will include drink specials like $1 Hamms, Menichino says. Musicians interested in playing at the Huntridge Tavern are encouraged to call the bar or strike up a conversation with Menichino himself. “If you wanna play, you can. I’m not gonna discriminate. If I can book bands every Saturday, I’m going to.”
