Last Thursday, with mermaids as bridesmaids and stingrays as groomsmen, Stephan and Andrea Fletzberger of Austria were married inside the 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium near the entrance to the Bass Pro Shops at the Silverton Casino. Strangers watched and took pictures with smartphones as the ceremony was broadcast live to the couples’ families overseas. The scene was definitely bizarre. It was also one of the most fun and funky ceremonies I’ve photographed during my time in this wedding-heavy town. No words were spoken by the scuba-certified couple; they only held up signs signifying “I Do.”
