Shark Reef Aquarium | Mandalay Bay | July 23, 2013 | 7:31 a.m.

I often have the chance to wander through Strip spaces at odd hours. Last month I had the chance to photograph the Shark Reef Aquarium in the early morning before it opened to the public. Of all the creepy creatures I encountered, the lionfish was one of the most striking. As can probably be deduced by its coloration, the lionfish is venomous and eats other fish. As it stared deep into my lens in the dark and quiet Shark Reef, I felt like it would eat me if it had the chance.
