Ah, fight week. It usually starts with a “workout” on Wednesday to get some photos of the main combatants. Thursday there’s a news conference where writers try to wring anything interesting out of the prepared answers. Then on Friday comes the weigh-in. Step on the scale, flex your muscles when you make weight and stand toe-to-toe with the person you are going to try and tear apart the next evening. It makes for the same photos over and over and over. But sometimes, you get something a little different. During the face-off, fighters pretend to hate each other for the benefit of the cameras, but the ever-ebullient Anderson Silva and challenger Chris Weidman got their heads closer than normal. And, just when you expected a head butt, they pushed their faces together and kissed liked a couple of straight guys on a dare.
