Fast-Food Wages Protest | McDonald’s at the corner of Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue | August 29, 2013 | 12:53 p.m.
They stood chanting under the golden arches. Everyone was sweat-soaked, but that didn’t dampen their enthusiasm. About 30 people were gathered outside McDonald’s on a hot and humid morning last week to join the national movement for fast-food worker wage increases. Workers from local fast-food chains, joined by union workers and sympathetic members of the public, eventually stormed into the McDonald’s, stunning the breakfast crowd. They chanted for a few minutes before quietly filing out and taking the fight to the fast-food chicken and taco purveyors down the street.
