An explosion at an Air Force base might alarm you. Or it might knock your socks off (almost literally). On a clear day at Nellis, a mock bombing run shook the earth and turned the sky to flame. Aviation Nation was a feast of powerful engineering, designed to inspire the badass pilots of tomorrow. When the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performed a calypso pass, no doubt fans of Top Gun quoted in unison: “Because I was inverted.”
