Penny Pibbets reaches crowdfunding goal for solo show

Absinthe star Penny Pibbets reached her Kickstarter fundraising goal November 18, effectively garnering enough dough to produce her solo live talk-show project, The Penny Pibbets Show.

The fiery, prom dress-rocking redhead set out to raise $19,990 for a 13-show run of the production at Downtown’s Art Square Theatre, with opening night slated for December 21. At press time, more than 300 “backers” had raised over $20,000 – and that’s with 36 hours of potential pledges to go.

So, how’d she do it? Well, star power probably didn’t hurt—both Holly Madison and Neil Patrick Harris (NPH!!!) sent some social media support, tweeting the Kickstarter link out to their millions of followers.

But we’d like to think that it was Penny’s own persistence with her hilarious reminder videos, posted to her Kickstarter and YouTube pages each day, that won over the public—and their dollars.

So check out one of our favorites, Day Five’s “Penny hangs with her 5 Friends” video, to the right – and then find the full video series and all of Penny’s crowdfunding details at Kickstarter.com.
