I smell incense and roasted meat, hear jousting lances splintering and the body-quaking thud of pirate cannons. Even the familiar trees of Sunset Park look twisted with magic. As an Elven warrior shops for a new blade, a harem of steampunk wenches trots toward the battlefield, bustles bouncing to a minstrel’s tune. Brave knights are getting medieval on salad fixings (and each other), members of the crowd barking for their champions. However fake the Renaissance-faire lifestyle seems to you, a man is still unflinching while a broad sword flies at his head.
