A calm sense of chaos emerged as the lanterns floated into the night sky. Bodies slowly started the trek back to their vehicles, but like moths to a flame were attracted to a giant sculpture that said “RISE.” A crowd gathered, each person jockeying to get one last selfie. Who could out-pose who? A strong lady gripped the letter “I” and seductively lifted her legs up it backwards, a move straight out of Showgirls. A couple of kids treated the “R” like a jungle gym, then waded into the darkness.
