A Penny for Jane, one of the top new groups to emerge from the talent-rich Las Vegas music scene, has wrapped up recording of their first self-titled EP at the Tone Factory Studio. The EP, produced by Mike Marsh (who also provides drums and vocals) will be available in early August. The group was formed in Spring of 2007 and has opened for groups like Lifehouse, Fuel, Paolo Nutini, Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat, and Vanessa Carleton. Their music has appeared on the WB, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Lifetime on shows like Smallville, The OC, Threat Matrix, and America's Top Model. Although the band acknowledges inspiration from classic staples in the indie alternative genre such as Death Cab for Cutie, Foo Fighters, and Dashboard Confessional, the group prides itself on its unique sound and original lyrics.
