In 2005, three family members, Chase, Tony, and Trevor Grijalva decided to put their musical talents together and create music. With the addition of talented guitarist and long-time high school friend Corey Smith, Solidify was born. The innovative minds of the band collaborated and wrote many songs for their debut album, "Change." In connection with the first CD release, Solidify also designed their own art, and marketed the band's image with merchandise that is consistently sold at Solidify's shows.
Almost immediately, the local music scene noticed Solidify's sound - a perfect combination of heavy and melodic guitar riffs, deep lyrics, and overall stage presence. Solidify was named Local Distortion's feature band of July 2005. The most popular songs off of the album, "The Only" and "Anxiety" have been played, and are still played on local rock stations KOMP 92.3, Area 107.9, and X-Treme 107.5. Indeed, Solidify maintains a solid fan base throughout the city that is dedicated to supporting the band throughout its career.
So important has the album "Change" been to Solidify's rising career, that the band could not avoid the personal realities of change. In 2007, Solidify itself experienced a major change. Trevor, a solid backbone of Solidify's past accomplishments, left the band. As challenging as this void was to overcome, Solidify retained a new drummer, Brad Gallimore, who is highly recognized in the local scene as a talented and innovative musician. Solidify also added a second guitarist, James Sagas, whose band experience and musical capabilities add more depth to the band.
With the new members, Solidify is taking its music to a new level. The band is now working diligently to complete their second album. Solidify has already performed the new songs that will comprise the second album, and the outlook for the second album will certainly exceed the success of their first album. The band is also planning a tour in the fall of 2007, performing in such cities as San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Hollywood, Phoenix, Tempe, Salt Lake City, and other areas of the Southwest. Of course, Solidify will not stop there, and is also planning on a full-scale national tour in the future.
Life is all about change. Solidify is a band that exemplifies the true meaning of overcoming obstacles with sincerity, resilience, and success.
