Put Hop Ride IPA on your shopping list
Last week, I reviewed Tenaya Creek Brewery’s Calico Brown, a pleasant enough product, but not really my cup of … beer. This week, I get the distinct pleasure of reviewing another of Tenaya Creek’s products, Hop Ride IPA. To recap, Tenaya Creek is as solid a local brewery in Las Vegas as you’re likely to find. They started out serving food along with their brews, but as time went by, they decided to focus only on beer. Good for the ... Read more...

What can brown do for you? Depends what you’re looking for
First off, let me say that Las Vegas has some fantastic local breweries. If you’re a beer lover and haven’t been out to Chicago Brewing Company, Big Dog’s or Joseph James, you are seriously missing out on some of the Valley’s bounty. Bourbon fans, put Noah’s Mill on your Holy Grail list

The Essential Crawl: Vegas’ most necessary bars
Champagne’s Café 3557 S. Maryland Parkway, 737-1699. If you haven’t been to Champagne’s Cafe, stop for a moment and picture what it might be. Then take that image and turn it on its head. This low-lit bar and karaoke joint is a divey dream, complete with vinyl booths, red and gold brocade wallpaper, a permanent haze and a crowd that’s split between crusty old-timers and hipster college kids. Somehow they manage to get along, taking the mic to sing karaoke ... Read more...

Postrio’s nod to Don Quixote makes for a perfect summertime drink
When you think of summer, odds are thoughts of legendary literary character Don Quixote don’t spring to mind. But after trying a Distorted Chivalry at the Venetian’s Postrio, that might ...
