Producers of Mel B and Kelly Monaco’s new burlesque show Peepshow kicked off their run of preview shows last night before its April 19 premiere, and the aggressive British media (sort of) scooped all of us! Our Las Vegas crew of media had agreed to a request not to cover the show until the final tweaks and polishing have been completed before opening night.
However, this morning producers here are furious that three British publications all blared headlines about Mel B's sexy striptease antics. You can click the following links to see the secrets for yourself across the pond that we’ve promised not to reveal until next week: Daily Mail, Metro and The Sun.
Mel B, aka Scary Spice from the Spice Girls, is a major British star, so it was inevitable that the competitive Fleet Street media would ship in spies and undercover cameras to catch her provocative underwear performance! I gave my word to creator, director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell that we would not do anything until his show was ready after the preview process. Yesterday, I interviewed BASE producer Scott Zeiger for an exclusive story that we’ll run next week with the first fully approved photos.
