If your idea of a sexy night on the town involves sophisticated drinks, an atmospheric street and endless high-quality people watching, plan to attend the next “Lift your Spirits” event, this Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at The District in Henderson.

From the Calendar

Lift your Spirits is a “libation-tasting event” where you can sip as you stroll. Saturday’s edition will be held on Main Street and will focus on sake, offering no less than 50 different types of the Japanese rice wine, as well as sake bombs and Japanese beer. If you have any questions far Eastern beverage, which has been imbibed in Japan since the third century, you can ask the Japanese brew masters on site.

Mixology: Sake

Several Asian restaurants will be providing food, should you work up an appetite. The cost is $40 each or two for $70 if purchased in advance at The District guest services. Season passes to the regular "Lift your Spirits" events are also available at The District guest services at a discounted rate. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charity Three Square, which provides food for those in need.

Before you begin your exotic tasting tour, check out our interview with master sake sommelier and consultant & founder of The North American Sake Institute (launching in late August) Tiffany Dawn Soto, who will teach you six terms you need to know as well as their correct pronunciation, so you know what to ask for and how to impress your date.
