St. Patrick’s Day reminds fun loving partiers around the world that there are so many bars, so little time. Of course, you can throw down gallons of beer any night you want, but there is something about this holiday that brings out the party animal in all of us. Maybe it’s the green dye no. 6.

Whatever the reason, people come out of the woodwork to put an O' in front of their last names and pile into pubs chugging booze the color of mouthwash for one special night. So, to help you pick your poison, your venue and maximize your musical merriment on Tuesday, here are a few ideas to get you started:

St. Patrick's Day beer pong tournament at Ovation: We’re not sure if throwing ping pong balls at plastic cups has the same cache in Ireland as it does here, but we suspect that winning money while getting drunk is universal. One thousand dollars are up for grabs at Ovation’s beer pong tournament. After that, the Sin City Sinners rock the night away from 9 p.m. until midnight. Check out Sin City Sinners in Las Vegas Weekly's local band guide. Tournament: 6 – 9 p.m.

St. Patrick's Day at Nine Fine Irishmen: New York-New York’s Nine Fine Irishmen will lead a St. Patrick’s Day parade along the Brooklyn Bridge, complete with bagpipers to get the celebration started and performances by Irish groups including Ri Ra, the Celtic Rockers and U2 cover outfit Rattle and Hum. Authentic Irish cuisine, including ale-battered and spicy sausage, fish ’n chips and bangers and mash, will be served.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the House of Blues: Enjoy Ultimate Happy Hour at the House of Blues Restaurant on St. Patrick's Day. Make the most of your night with drink and food specials from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and live music.

Folks arriving dressed in green will receive $3.17 green margaritas, draft beer and food specials. Register to win $317 in prizes, and if your birthday happens to fall on this auspicious day you will receive a $31.70 gift certificate.

The Luck of the Irish at Studio 54: Hosted by two leprechauns, Studio 54’s party blends Irish fun with a New Orleans fashion sense and a very Vegas payout. Guests will compete to collect the most beads, with the winner taking home a MGM Grand luxury package. Entry into the club gets you one strand of beads, each bottle purchased gets you 10 strands and every drink you order gets you another strand. We’re guessing that showing off your own pots o’ gold will earn you a few, too.

St. Patrick's Day at the Yard House: At Yard House at Town Square St. Patty’s Day is all about the beer. Corned beef brisket is braised in Irish beer and shepherd’s pie features Guinness-stewed beef sirloin. Wash it all down with emerald-colored Coors Light and Pyramid Hefeweisen or Irish favorites like George Killian’s Irish Red, Guinness Stout or Harp Lager.

We don’t know what’s in a shamrock shot, but free is free. If only the giveaway was based on every time someone slurred the word Guinness. Ladies drink free champagne all night long.

Erin Go Bra-gh St. Patrick's Day party at Blush: Blush presents Erin Go Bra-gh, a St. Patrick's Day party with Jameson's and a green bra competition for cash and prizes.
