“I make songs that make you feel good about feeling bad,” says DJ/Producer Dave Dresden.
Dresden is one of the most recognizable and revered names in electronic music, thanks to his work as Gabriel & Dresden with Josh Gabriel. The Weekly caught up with the former dance music journalist before his recent Las Vegas gig at 3 a.m. Afterhours at Privé.
Still perseverant and productive as ever in the studio, award-winning producer Dresden has now teamed up with Mikael Johnston (Mephisto Odyssey) for his next project.
In this edition of the Nightlife Podcast, Dresden chats about his newest musical meeting, the benefits of collaborating on tracks—and crediting others for their work—plus Dresden & Johnston’s new album. He also shares his views on how emotions can spill from a song to the dance floor and points out a few producers to watch in 2010.
