First lap dance a biting experience
I remember the nervousness and excitement of giving my first lap dance. In retrospect, it was an unusually bad experience. The customer, I’m sure, knew better than to behave the way he did when he chose to bite me on the nipple. Since I was basically still in training for a strange new job, I didn’t necessarily want to complain. Was it standard practice to bite nipples as a customer? Rituals of the Las Vegas underworld were still unfamiliar to ... Read more...

First-time club visitor gets an eyeful
My friend Richard Abowitz writes a blog about Vegas for the Los Angeles Times. Monday night we went to a strip club together with a tourist who was going for the first time. Richard wrote about our outing in his blog, so I figured I’d tell my version of the story over here. Saturday, by chance, Richard and I met a very interesting and accomplished tourist. He is a medical doctor with a Ph.D, and to say he is well-traveled ... Read more...

Justice unmasked at Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball
The time, around Halloween, is the best time of year. The weather becomes perfect. Business begins to improve. Most importantly, however, is the sudden abundance of debaucherous costume parties. Costume parties and contests encourage crowds of people to out-do each other’s creativity. Like a mini-annual Renaissance, people abandon their usual modesty and come out in droves wearing their most highly adorned and extravagant ensembles. It is an incredible environment, especially in Las Vegas where debauchery and flamboyance are already part ... Read more...

The club club? Not a member
I went to Pole-a-Palooza at Bank nightclub inside the Bellagio on Sunday night. Pole-a-Palooza, for those who are unfamiliar, is a pole dancing competition hosted at a casino nightclub with a cash prize of $10,000. As I mentioned before, I have absolutely no pole dancing skills, so I was only going for the good show and a chance to run into a lot of familiar faces from the strip club world. Sure enough, I knew one of the (I believe ... Read more...

Our own gal-up pole: Strippers not so politically inclined
Elections are coming up, so politics are naturally on most people’s minds. I learned recently that politics are not, however, on the minds of most strippers. At work, I asked other strippers how they feel about the upcoming elections. Polls from the poles, if you will. As I mentioned in a previous blog, strippers have no unity. I’m convinced that we will never be unionized in Nevada. A lowly, thieving bunch, we are. As a whole, we have no concern ... Read more...

Pole position is not for the meek
I don’t think that pole dancing gets enough credit or appreciation as a very difficult form of performance art. There is a great degree of skill involved in successfully executing a beautiful show. A highly skilled dancer can perform her pole work with incredible speed and agility. Pole dancing is a combination of acrobatics and freestyle dance and requires an incredible amount of strength to be performed properly. It should look effortless and weightless, almost like it is being done ... Read more...

A night behind the dumpster gives pause for thought
In the afternoon heat of a Las Vegas summer day, I woke up to the discomfort of a hard floor and to the smell of rancid bar garbage. I suspect it was the smell of rotting lemon garnish and syrupy liquor stagnating in the summer warmth. Perhaps I was also smelling a mixture of sawdust and vomit from last night’s festivities. I looked around in the blindingly bright sunlight and saw that I was behind a dumpster. I was sweaty ... Read more...

Anonymity means retaining the inalienable right to be Sarah Palin
Anonymity has been an extremely fun game. I learned very quickly that I would compromise the quality and details of my stories in the Stripped blog if I told anyone at work about my identity as the stripper blogger. I mentioned it to a few girls months before it actually began. They didn’t really care or soon forgot about it to make room in their heads for better gossip. With a little thought and plenty of anecdotal evidence to form ... Read more...
