When I heard The Most Interesting Show in the World was coming to Vegas I was, well, interested. Of course, “interesting” is sometimes just a nice word for weird, annoying or having that funny smell usually associated with nursing homes and many cats, but that wasn’t going to deter me. Hyperbole this gratuitous warrants a closer look.

The. Most. Interesting. Show. In. The. World. What it could possibly contain? I pondered the things that interest me: well-constructed bridges, food with names I can’t pronounce, flamenco dancing, diagnostic mysteries a la House. The Most Interesting Show in the World should have all of them and more – an exotic blind taste test that may induce inconclusive allergic reactions served by a flamenco-dancing Spaniard who also dabbles in bridge design. It would be satisfying, if a bit unwieldy and rather dangerous.
It turns out the real Most Dangerous is all those things – a side show circus from the twisted mind of Jim Rose with acts like fire jugglers, burlesque dancers, Japanese robotic dancers and aerial acrobatics. Cirque on acid with a touch of the X-rated hypnotist, if you will. It just might be weird enough to make my most interesting list, or it could be thrown on the pile of over-hyped oddities to pass through Vegas. See for yourself at New York-New York’s Rok Vegas this Friday and Saturday.
