Booze-infused ice-pops are headed for the Strip

Mixing alcohol with frozen desserts isn’t exactly a radical concept in Las Vegas: Virtually every casino has a Fat Tuesday-style slushy drink bar, and restaurants like BLT (Mirage), KGB (Harrah’s) and Burgers & Bottles (Tivoli Village) have menus of “adult” milkshakes. But the LA-based SnöBar plans to lower the temperature even further this summer with a new line of alcohol-infused ice-pops and ice cream, served from special 10-degree freezers, at several Strip properties and even Walgreens.

Of the two ice-pops and four ice cream varieties (all with 8 to 15 percent alcohol by volume), we think pool party people are likely to most love the margarita. The dense bar actually mirrors the limey-sour taste and alcohol kick of a well-made premium tequila drink, but without any fear that melting ice will dilute it. Other flavors include a vodka-laced cosmopolitan pop, and mixed spirits ice creams Grasshopper, Pink Squirrel and brandy Alexander (with and without chocolate chips). If those aren’t your favorite libations, fret not: Spokesperson Nick Valente says 50 more boozed-up flavors are on their way.
