Are there three better words in the English language than "free ice cream"?

On April 9, Ben & Jerry's will celebrate its 35th annual Free Cone Day by serving complimentary scoops of Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Therapy, Half Baked and more with donations benefitting St. Jude's Ranch for Children. Participating locations in the Valley include the B&J's at Sunset Station and at the District at Green Valley Ranch, where celebrity scoopers from Chippendales, X Burlesque and Fantasy will try their hand at cone creation for the day from noon to 8 p.m.

If you don't want to spend your whole lunch hour waiting in line, it's probably wise to arrive on the early side. The lines at Free Cone Day are known to be almost as epic as all that free ice cream.

  • Enjoy these spooky cocktails right now.

  • One can only hope Henderson diners embrace this restaurant while adventurous gourmands from around the Valley make the trip.

  • The method is reminiscent of that scene in Edward Scissorhands where Johnny Depp crafts an ice sculpture and mimics falling snow.
