Everyone loves a birthday celebration. The Bacchanal Buffet is combining its one-year party with the start of Three Square’s Restaurant Week with a special kick-off dinner.

Many of Bacchanal’s chefs have spent time in the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants. In order to showcase the expertise of this culinary collective, Caesars Palace is hosting a very special wine pairing dinner highlighting both current dishes and forthcoming offerings at Bacchanal. Not only is a seated, full-service dinner a rarity in any buffet, but the participation of a buffet in Restaurant Week is also a first.

Courses will include: sweet corn soup with Maine lobster croquette; pan-roasted diver scallop atop a saffron potato mousseline (think light mousse) with an heirloom tomato puttanesca; and a petite Black Angus filet mignon with chanterelle mushrooms and celery root puree. Having been granted a preview tasting, I can assure you it will be a delicious evening.

The Restaurant Week kick-off dinner will be held on Thursday, August 22 at the Bacchanal Buffet in a private dining room. Cocktails start at 6 p.m. and seats for the event are $125 plus tax and gratuity, which includes five courses with wine pairings. For reservations, call Bacchanal general manager Gabrielle Perez at 785-6359. Remember, it’s good eating for a good cause, and space is limited.
