The D is not done getting all Detroit'd up.

Formerly Fitzgeralds, the Downtown casino-hotel opened the first location of American Coney Island hot dogs outside Michigan in October. Now another taste of Detroit is coming on February 1 with the arrival of Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse, the largest independently owned and operated restaurant group in Motor City.

Andiamo has nine locations in Detroit and has been a favorite family restaurant there for more than 20 years, according to today's press release. "We're excited to introduce guests of the D to our signature dishes. Our passion is quality products and we believe that when great food is paired with excellent service and atmosphere, lasting memories are created," Vicari, the owner, said in the release.

The Andiamo menu will feature traditional pasta dishes, steak and seafood. Appetizers range from grilled portabella mushrooms in a signature "zip" sauce to the "grande meatball," allegedly the size of a baseball. The signature steak will be a 32-ounce tomahawk ribeye, dry-aged for a minimum of 30 days. Popular pastas include pappardelle with veal ragu and handmade tortelloni with vermouth creme sauce. The new restaurant will be open nightly from 5 to 11 p.m.
