Don’t miss the next installment of Yusho After Dark.

What are you doing Tuesday night? Make new plans. Yusho at Monte Carlo is planning a special edition of its Yusho After Dark event for June 2 at 11 p.m. Not only will chef Brian Lhee welcome Sushisamba chef Bobby Silva for a special small plates team-up, but Yusho also will unveil a new Kikusui Funaguchi sake can—yes, sake in a can!—designed specifically for the Las Vegas restaurant. Combined with its sister restaurants in Chicago, Yusho is the largest pourer of Kikusui Funaguchi sake in the world. The can design was created by Chicago artist Sarah Beacon, and it contains an unpasteurized, unblended sake with light flavor. Tickets for Yusho After Dark are $25, with the price including one signature draft cocktail and the dishes by Lhee and Silva.

In other Monte Carlo booze news, Double Barrel Roadhouse is the spot for the next installment of the resort’s Booze & Bites Dinner Series, with a bourbon pairing set for June 24 at 6:30 p.m. Jim Beam products are on the menu, along with smoked duck wings in habanero-Knob Creek glaze, Southern jambalaya and bourbon bread pudding. Tickets are $65 and can be had by calling 702-222-7735.

Rick Moonen has been hanging with the CraftHaus crew.

Las Vegas Weekly food columnist (and, okay, he’s a celebrity chef, too) Rick Moonen is teaming up with Henderson’s CraftHaus Brewery for a special four-course dinner at Rx Boiler Room on June 26 at 6 p.m. featuring Gone with the Wit, the Belgian-style beer Moonen and the CraftHaus crew concocted together. Other CraftHaus brews also will be paired with dishes such as Portuguese seafood cataplana, kalbi-marinated skirt steak and sticky toffee pudding. Tickets are $60 and space is limited; get yours by calling 702-632-9900.

William Costello of the Mandarin Oriental hotel on the Las Vegas Strip is one of the seven new members of the Court of Master Sommeliers. The Master Sommelier diploma is the highest distinction one can attain in the beverage service industry, requiring passing scores across the board during a strenuous three-part examination held by invitation only in Aspen, Colorado. This year, 63 individuals attempted to pass.
