Tickets are on sale for Vegas Uncork’d 2014, May 8-11

Looking for a once-in-a-lifetime meal? Check this out: On May 8, legendary chef Pierre Gagnaire teams up with American dynamo Shawn McClain for a $400 dinner at Gagnaire’s Twist restaurant at Mandarin Oriental. And that’s just the beginning.

Tickets are now on sale for that dinner and the 22 other culinary events making up this year’s Vegas Uncork’d, presented by Bon Appétit May 8-11. Most foodies consider this the biggest event of the dining year in Las Vegas, and it’s getting a little bigger in 2014. This year’s partner resorts are Aria, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand and Venetian.

New to that lineup is Venetian, and though there’s just one event planned there, it’s a must-do. Night Market: East Meets West is also set for the opening night of May 8, a LuckyRice-style festival featuring Asian-inspired dishes and drinks at Venetian’s Doges Palace facade along the Strip. Resident celeb chefs Mario Batali, Thomas Keller, Simon To and Buddy Valastro will be there, as will visitors Tetsuya Wakuda and Justin Quek. Later, local Le Cordon Bleu students will team up with Uncork’d chefs to battle for tuition money in the Chase Sapphire Preferred Grill Challenge.

Other highlights of the four-day fest include: a chance to make sushi and taste sake and ramen with Nobu Matsuhisa at Caesars Palace; Michael Mina’s pig roast and beer garden at MGM Grand; an art and wine pairing featuring master sommelier Jason Smith and Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art executive director Tarissa Tiberti; a progressive evening of dining and clubbing at Hakkasan; and the Grand Tasting at Caesars’ Garden of the Gods pool, the annual Uncork’d centerpiece set for 7 p.m. May 9.
