The local chef and media communities are coming together to raise funds for Vegas food critic Max Jacobson, who was struck by a car Dec. 23.

It’s the kind of event Max would love. On September 28 a diverse lineup of Vegas chefs are gathering at Kerry Simon’s Carson Kitchen for the latest Chefs to the Max event in support of local restaurant critic Max Jacobson, who was struck by a car on December 23 and suffered grave injuries.

The chef list for Sunday Supper hosted by Carson Kitchen’s Matt Andrews includes Luciano Pellegrini and Jose Aleman of Marche Bacchus, Ming See Woo of Fu Asian Kitchen, Chris Palmeri of Naked City Pizza, Dalton Wilson of DW Bistro, Todd Harrington of Downtown Grand, Vic “Vegas” Moea of V’s Café and Paloma Cuellar of La Comida. O Face Doughnuts will take care of desserts, and booze will be provided by Southern Wine & Spirits, with Commonwealth’s Dan Marohnic mixing the cocktails.

Jacobson himself will be back in town soon, after spending the past nine months recovering in facilities around the country, most recently in Omaha, Nebraska. A representative said he’s been making amazing progress, can walk without assistance and understands most of the numerous languages he spoke before the accident. An even better demonstration of his recovery: He’s back to enjoying dinners out—now in Omaha, soon in Vegas.

Chefs to the Max September 28, 6 p.m., $75. Carson Kitchen, 702-473-9523, [email protected].
