Dining News & Notes: Chefs team up for benefit dinner at Tivoli Village

Tivoli Village hosts a special outdoor dinner event on October 18.

Tivoli Village plays host to a one-night-only community dinner benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada on October 18 at 5 p.m. The outdoor dinner will be prepared by local chefs Johnny Church, Kim Canteenwalla, Sam Marvin, Dan Krohmer and Desyree Alberganti and will include a Belvedere Vodka cocktail hour with appetizers and raw bar, four savory courses and a dessert course, each paired with wine. Live entertainment and a silent auction are part of the event. Tickets are $135 and can be purchased here.

Football-watching, wing-sling’ powerhouse Buffalo Wild Wings opens its newest Las Vegas location on October 19 in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood and will be offering discounts and giveaways throughout the day.

Aliante Casino’s Bistro 57 partners with Rodney Strong Wine Estates of Sonoma County for a pairing dinner on October 21 at 6:30 p.m. The six-course dinner from chef Francesco DeFuria is $95 and will feature dishes such as poached figs with ricotta and honey mousse, chocolate ravioli with shrimp in Champagne cream sauce and grilled branzino. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 702-692-7265.

"The Intuitive Forager" Kerry Clasby hosts a Farmers' Market Culinary Showdown at Downtown Summerlin.

Hexx Kitchen & Bar at Paris hosts its first monthly wine, cheese and meat event on October 22 at 6 p.m., allowing guests to sample wines from Justin Winery and Landmark Vineyards with a special charcuterie station. The samplings are complimentary but space is limited, so make a reservation at 702-331-5100.

Local culinary students will compete at the farmers’ market at Downtown Summerlin on October 24 at noon when the Intuitive Forager Culinary Showdown takes place, hosted by Kerry Clasby with chef judges Shawn McClain, Geno Bernardo and Mark Andelbradt. The students will get 25 minutes to create their dish from a mystery box of produce and ingredients. The public is welcome to watch the showdown.

Slice of Vegas at the Shoppes at Mandalay Place is holding its first craft beer dinner on October 27 at 6 p.m., matching different brews with four dishes prepared by chef George Motsinger. Pairings include New Belgium’s Le Terrior with a salad of beets, goat cheese and oranges, and Firestone Easy Jack with lobster spaghetti in creamy tomato sauce. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased by calling 702-632-6470.
