“Leave the show to the pros” is an oft-heard phrase in Las Vegas around Independence Day, warning of the dangers of using your own fireworks on the Fourth. If you’re going to light up the sky, there are a few things to consider besides safety. Any firework that can be deemed a “rocket” or can “explode” is illegal in Clark County. This includes but is not limited to cherry bombs, M-80s, Roman candles, bottle rockets and aerial fireworks (often seen in commercial fireworks shows). Potential consequences for misuse include thousands of dollars in fines and jail time, and penalties increase for illegal usage on government lands. Consider saving yourself the time and money this year and catch one of the Valley’s patriotic pyrotechnic spectaculars produced by—you guessed it—the pros.
