Feb. 8 is Chinese New Year, welcoming in the Year of the Monkey, which is associated with curiosity, adventure, innovation and resolve. This cocktail is experimental, fun and festive while incorporating traditional elements. The base liqueur, Kweichow Moutai, is a beloved Chinese liqueur that has been revered in the country for hundreds of years.
Ingredients
1 ½ oz. Kweichow Moutai (Chinese spirit)
1 ½ oz. Funkin Brazilian Cocktail Mixer
¾ oz. Licor 43 (Spanish vanilla liqueur)
1 oz. fresh lime juice
½ oz. Wilks & Wilson Adelaide’s Orgeat
Dehydrated pineapple wheel for garnish
Fresh passion fruit for garnish
Method
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake thoroughly. Strain into a frosted glass over crushed ice. Garnish with dehydrated pineapple wheel and fresh passion fruit.
