The 10 of spades sports a tribal mask. The king of clubs reveals not twins but enemies, a Native American warrior folding into an army general. The seven of hearts is black with a large photo of an actual heart, pink and veiny.

The deck, illustrated by editorial artists, was commissioned by the Society of New Designers to commemorate its annual workshop, held this year in Las Vegas. SND Foundation President and Las Vegas Sun Deputy Managing Editor Bill Gaspard says proceeds will go toward grants and scholarships. But it’s not all about the cause. Flipping an ace that looks like a pants-less cowboy is just plain fun.

Decks can be purchased for $20 at sndvegas.com.
