If MolliCoolz Shakers are the ice cream of the future, all I can say is: I’m a journalist, get me out of here! All you need to do is 1) shake the container to loosen the “pelletized ice cream beads” using “liquid nitrogen technology”; 2) add milk; and 3) shake it again. What you’re supposed to get is a mess-free, tasty milkshake.
Negative on both counts. The resulting texture is the opposite of smooth and creamy—watery bits contrasted with large, frozen chunks, which made for not only an unenjoyable drinking experience, but a risky one as well.
Most of this would be moot had the drink delivered on taste. All three flavors sampled—cookies and cream, chocolate and vanilla—tasted fine at first, but there’s an ersatz aftertaste to all three that cannot be ignored. Our advice: Stick to the mixer.
