Dogs come out at night

Image

It’s 3 a.m., you’ve been singing karaoke and swigging beers for hours, and now you need meat, preferably a New York-style hot dog with all the trimmings. There’s only one problem: You’re nowhere near New York. Well, drunken munchers, Guinea Pigs has heard your stomach groans. The new deluxe hot-dog cart had its grand opening last weekend and will set up shop outside Dino’s Lounge (1516 Las Vegas Blvd. S.) every Thursday, Friday and Saturday to feed the drunk and hungry into the wee hours of the morning.

Guinea Pigs Street Meat

Don’t let the name worry you. Run by former Diego executive chef Christopher Palmeri and two friends, Guinea Pigs isn’t hawking mystery meat. The cart/tent/impromptu street party stocks New York favorite Sabrett hot dogs—available in regular or foot-long sizes and Guinea Pig-style, topped with cheese and bacon, for $2.50 to $4.50. Cheap, quick and tasty: We’re in love.
