Nite Bite: DJ AM’s replacement

Despite rumors going around the Twittisphere, the N9NE Group will not be announcing a new resident DJ for Friday nights at Rain in the near future.

With the news of DJ AM’s passing on August 28, the future of AM Fridays at the Palms nightclub was put into question. On Friday, following the reporting of Adam Goldstein’s death, regular opener DJ R.O.B. filled in with a tribute to the fallen DJ. The N9NE has denied rumors that the night’s new resident will be announced this week.

Prior to AM Fridays, Rain’s Friday night party was Music is the Currency, which featured guest performers, but N9NE Group says the club will not revert back to that party.

The N9NE Group says they will not release the name of the new resident DJ for about four weeks. The Friday night DJ lineup for the next month at Rain will be announced tomorrow, but DJ Jazzy Jeff is confirmed to command the tables this Friday. A formal tribute to DJ AM, born Adam Goldstein, will take place on September 18 at Rain.

UPDATE 09/02/09: In addition to DJ Jazzy Jeff spinning on September 4, DJ Ruckus will be the guest DJ on September 11, Adam 12 on October 2, and Homicide on October 9. Headliners for September 18 and 25 are still to be determined.
