They say when the cat’s away, the mice will play – but Pussycat Nicole Scherzinger recently proved that cats like to play, too.

The Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer was in Las Vegas this weekend and managed to mix business with a lot of pleasure.

She played plenty, in fact, and enjoyed into a rather epic Saturday night out on (and all over) the town.

The fun started with a mini-PCD reunion at the Palms, where she and Dolls’ founder Robin Antin enjoyed front row seats for the 11 p.m. performance of Antin’s latest Vegas-headliner-in-the-making, Matt Goss.

Scherzinger got up onstage midway through the show to join the Brit for a cover of Nina Simone’s “Feelin’ Good.”

The duet served as a warm-up of sorts for Scherzinger, who gave a performance of her own later that night at LAX.

After Goss’ star-studded show came to a close, he, Antin, and the others headed up to Playboy Club – but Scherzinger didn’t join them.

Instead, she hightailed it south, to the Luxor.

While she was seen in several places on Saturday night (and the wee hours of Sunday morning), LAX was the only place she was officially scheduled to appear.

Wearing the same skin-tight black pants, black platform heels and white lace halter top, the 31-year-old stunner hit the club and quickly fulfilled her hosting commitments.

The Hawaii native hit the stage and sang a few songs while the crowd cheered and camera flashes filled the air.

Still, it wasn’t long before Scherzinger was on the party prowl once again: She soon returned to the Palms, where she joined the one-year anniversary party at Perfecto.

Sipping on sugar-free Red Bull and sucking on a bedazzled lollipop, Scherzinger paid a visit to Rain’s resident Saturday night DJ, Paul Oakenfold.

She used playfully scanned the crowd using a high-powered flashlight and, after studying the master at work for quire a while, convinced Oakenfold to let her mix a track on her own.

The two remained in the booth for the remainder of the night, until the house lights came on to signal that the party was finally over.

Scherzinger’s night, however, was hardly over: She and Oakenfold exited the stage and, along with a small entourage, made their way through the hotel to the front valet.

Once outside, the party-hardy crew piled into a limo and quickly made their way to Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, where more fun was waiting for them.

The champagne-filled night continued at a VIP table at Drai’s After Hours, where the Pussycat continued to party with Oakenfold and the others well into the morning hours.

Needless to say, the sun was coming up by the time the party finally died down.

So much for mice having all the fun.
