While hitting up more than a dozen events during the 25th Winter Music Conference in Miami last week, this Weekly nightlife writer was keeping her eyes and ears open for tasty nightlife gossip — the kind of stuff that'll have clubgoers stoked for the rest of this year.

As it turns out, 2010 could be Vegas' year of the Massive, that is, multi-day parties of monumental proportions. Fliers for The Love Festival's return to the Palms over Memorial Day Weekend were all over the streets of South Beach. Also spotted was evidence of the Vegas Music Experience's resurrection. Vegas has seen neither hide nor hair of the electronic music conference/festival since 2007, but rumor has it VME 2010 will take place sometime in October and will incorporate not just electronic music artists, but also live indie bands for a week of round-the-clock parties that mix business with pleasure, much like WMC. In addition, we heard on the down low that another arena-sized dance music festival is in the works for this August.

Making a splash all over Miami last week was Vegas' own Wet Republic, mobile thanks to a giant bus wrapped with the ultra pool's latest ad declaring war on nightlife. The Weekly learned that DJ/producer Oscar G will be bringing his Made in Miami party to Wet Republic on April 25, plus Swedish House Mafia will play their first-ever Vegas gig June 26 at Wet Republic. Didn't make it to Miami? No sweat — Miami is coming to you.
